i m a non-conformist!
i don't follow people's rules, i have my own standards and i am only obliged to them!!!!
i don't really want to explain my behavior or attitude toward different things, but then i think that i should explain, in the same way that paulo coelho explains things.
so i don't like food much!!!!!!!!! although i admit that it is one of the greatest gifts of God, but then is it all i should think about and learn in order to survive my married life????? well if that is what people expect from me, then they have to be disappointed!!!!
in paulo coelho's novel "The Zahir", esther tells her husband that "women are the happiest when they cook and see their family eat". true very true!
and i read somewhere that evolution of mankind is directly related to the cooking of food! the importance of food, accepted! but is it necessary that one's life should revolve around cooking of the food?
i don't cook.... and there is a difference between 'can't' and 'don't'. it means that i can cook but i don't do it regularly!
life is too short and there is so much to do. we already waste a lot of our time, doing unproductive things, that are to no avail, food although is important, but does not make focal point of my life existence. i eat to live, and not live to eat. cooking exotic meals to satisfy my taste buds or that of my friends is not necessary for me, you can fulfill your requirement of food by eating daal chawal or tikka or duck fonti! who cares? you will feel hungry after four hours and then what? follow the same ritual???!!! isn't there something better to do? there is not even a single person in this world, who can tell you, what my favorite food is? because it is not important.
80% of world problems arise because of food, the lust for food, eliminate the food and there would be less problem! a teacher of mine once told me that its not my sole responsibility to eliminate those problems.
all in place. i don't like to spend my time learning to cook exotic food and gathering people's praise. i have learnt the hardest way that i can't make everyone happy, so i won't even try!!!! i've got better things to do with my time :)

Alternating Lifestyle
When in Pakistan, do as the Pakistanis do, that is, learn to live without electricity, which is commonly known as light.
When there is no light, the most comforting sound is that of the neighbor's generator, comforting it's not only you, it's rest of them too.
When the load-shedding is following a schedule it is easy to fall into a pattern, divide work as the ones that need electricity to be finished and others that can be done without electricity... easy way out!
My family and I easily fell into this pattern, but then BOOM... load-shedding isn't following any pattern anymore!!!!
Go on STANDBY!!!! always have some clothes ironed for emergencies, learn to utilize daylight to maximum, learn to wash clothes by hand and dry them in the searing sunlight of the subcontinent. Books and magazines once again prove to be your best friends; adopt hobbies... because there is no way of using your desktop and lappi without Internet is not much fun. NO late night staying up , no late night study...All your plans are ruined and things become costly, PHEW!!!! what a mes....
The electricity governs our lifestyle, we are born to it, but that doesn't mean that lack of it should ruin our life...Change your lifestyle a bit... :) and enjoy natural living !!!!

PEOPLE
when i was in university, i claimed to live in heaven because i really had no problems in life!
and i also thought that because i don't really go well along with people i must be crazy, because so many people can't be crazy at the same time!
but today it all proved to be wrong.
as usual i went to attend my Sunday class for teacher training... a BIG mistake that i make every Sunday willingly !!!!!
there during the hour of educational guidance somehow our discussion turned to the perfect environment and the role of parents and teachers in making that perfect environment for the child!!!!
in Pakistan if u r the child of a teacher, u r supposed to be the king or queen of ur class (true in 95% of the cases) so a girl in my class goes like... agar mein bachay ko kehti bhi hun ke woh aisa na kare tou uss ki maa jo aik senior teacher hai larnay aa jaye ghee!!!!
aur agar mein kissi higher authority ko kahoon tou principal bhi aisay hee hein.
at that moment i tried to share my personal experience.... my mom was a teacher in my school and when she joined she told us ... maan school mein tawanhji ammi na aahyan srif teacher aahyan!
and that was the end of the story... but people generally disagree with me. i said out loud that i feel alien here because i look like the only person with good experiences, rest of them have loads of bad ones. their colleagues are evil, their bosses are evil, their students are evil, the parents they interact with are evil!!!! everyone around them is EVIL!!!!
i understand that situation in Pakistan is very bad and the ground realities are even in the sadder, but that doesn't mean that they have to remain like this forever. we are teachers, we shape the future, we can bring any change we want, but it look like we are more interested in criticizing the system, the people, the state, but would not change anything...................
we are not, unfortunately, interested in learning, we are only interested in earning :(
-----X-----X-----X-----X-----
and then i went to buy wool :D [fine i knit in summers]
resham gali ends up in shahi bazaar, the longest bazaar in Asia!!!!
its the only place in haiderabad where you can buy wool from :( [women don't knit anymore!!!]
so MQM happen to celebrate 'MERA HYDERABAD' week. safai nisf eemaan hai!!!!
[aur ghunda gardi poora!]
they occupied hald the half the parking lot but putting up a tent there showing off their party work!!!! what work??? annoying people and creating hindrance in traffic!!! what a week!!!!!!!!

Coke Studio 3 - Ep - Bolo Bolo
this song reminds me of my childhood, originally sung by Sajjad Ali.and stand true in all times, representing the increasing inclination of materialism of love.

on honesty
sometimes people tel me that that you are too honest. almost blunt! but whats with being too honest. its the cult of extremist; either u r honest or dishonest. there is no such thing as too honest or moderately honest!
people only find you too honest when they are being dishonest themselves!
its something to think about...

WORRIES
there were times when i never thought i would come to this. today even the smallest thing make me worried. i hv lost the sense of differentiating between sadness and worries... everything that make me worried turn into sadness. sadness that is permanent.
