The Mid Year Resolution

i went away for a week and when i returned i realized that we have a new president!!!! "Mamnoon Hussain", it was easier to abuse president zardari and blame him for all the wrongs of the country even when he was just a symbolic head and the chief executive was prime minister. but now that he is gone, we should certainly see the change!!!! so let the drama unroll!!!

every year it rains and every year all of Pakistan is flooded, we learn nothing from our experiences, forget about learning from the experiences of our elders... in this situation i keep wondering what we - as common people - can do? suggestions anyone?

oh! the mid year resolution... it is a tough resolution, one that i am determined to keep. it started in june, the resolution is quite simple, i will not buy any books for next two years!!!! tough, tough, tough!!!! but this has a reason, i hv got so much unread literature around me that one can't imagine and i keep buying new and hip books. so i have decided that i'll read all my old books and then buy new ones.

and i still need to do the course that i dropped or i hv been threatened to be dropped off the program. i so wanted this degree but then i dunno what happened? i see people around me doing this- i think i should be able to do this.... well i hope for the better.

and i hv my reading goals [read 45 books] and cross stitching goal [have at least 150 pictures done by the end of year]

so this is it... i hope that people affected by floods in my country are safe and that they will be able to celebrate eid as they planned to...

A Slow Year

I have been very slow to write or update my blog this year, so far i have only written three posts!!!! it is not that i don't have any ideas to write about, it is just that all i want to do is to sleep!!!!

i wake up, go to work, come back - sleep!!!! i skip meals to sleep!!!!!!!!!

so this is what i have been upto.

i started teaching, got my old job back! but the situation in that school has detriorated so much, i wonder why parents are still paying so much, if their children are not getting any education at all (they can't converse in English, they can't read/write Urdu properly, they are mostly poor at math ,they don't have any manners in general, they don't know how to dress properly) and then i realized that it is not about education, it is about reputation. telling someone that my child goes to so and so school is such a cool thing, even if your child has forgotten all the manners, that u taught him/her.

and then teachers.... i admit that my teachers were far better than me as a teacher... all we want to do is to earn some money and have fun! we are not there to teach... and the result - sub standard education and sub standard human beings - who turned out to be confused and good for nothing!

we need to change that.

and for this everyone needs to pitch in, one person can't do that.

A Race for Justice

a while back i was going through my facebook feed and there someone posted from the page 'in memory of shahzeb' that why have justice becaome a race? doesn't justice for one means justice for all?

and it got me thinking, why is justice a race in my country? the answer is very simple that having justice will become a race when there will be very limited amount of it, when there is will be only one person to look upto for getting justice, it is like you are fighting for something rare.

like a real race, or a treasure hunt, the one who finds the treasure first or reaches the finishing line wins. there it is justice, so very important, so very desirable, so very much wanted and there it is shazeb who got shot is getting it, but them there 103 people from twin blasts in quetta not...

[note: for some weird reason this post got deleted, and i have no idea how? thus the break from this blog! i'll try to be more regular now!]

some thoughts

Jamshed Dasti sent to prison in fake degree case! he deserves to be punished for his lies, but this is not about him going to jail, this is about him riding a donkey cart for filing of his nomination papers - - - well yes he did that! and i saw some people making fun of him on twitter! that such a clown can't be chosen as a lawmaker! but in opinion, he was truely representating his people!

most of the Pakistanis in the rural areas still ride a donkey cart, and some do that in cities too, so where common man rides in it, why a representative of people can't? i don't think it was funny, I think that it was highly appropriate display of togetherness with people!!!!

and then today in the news, the PTI jalsa they forgot to turn off the music during the maghrib prayers!!!! gimme a break! DAWN news what is ur agenda? want to create a havoc in country??? get people killed? please refrain from such news!!!!

and the last one, AKchisti on twitter posted that Qauid-e-Azam ate ham sanwiches and drank scotch - - - as far as my knowledge goes it is true! and there go people of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, abusing the author about his ideas about Pakistan and the angelicised quaid! c'mon give this man a break! he is just speaking the truth - nothing but the truth! try to learn to accept it that we are a nation that believe in Ayub Khan's or Zia-ul-Haq's Quaid - not the real one!

that is a sad thing!
