Teachers

happy teachers day

when we think of our teachers we tend to think of the teachers that we liked, who we thought as our ultimate role model. we tend to ignore teachers that were not so good, that were rude and hard and unkind. we don't think of the teachers that made our life miserable while teaching us. [i had quite a few of such teachers]

when i was in school [that would be high school as i still am in school and that would be university :P] i had teachers who would go out of the way to facilitate the students, who would listen to anything we had to say and in short such teachers were everyone's favorite. i had an English teacher, who not only encouraged us to speak, but also encouraged us to do things that we were generally interested in. [in my case it was embroidery and speaking out] and there were teachers who made our life hell, from ridiculing the hair styles of the students [and mind it, we were only allowed simple pony tails or plaits] to ridiculing the way we spoke, not correcting us but making fun. now you can imagine the amount of respect that i have for both of them and the difference.

when i was training to be a teacher, my English teacher asked the class, what kind of teachers you would like to be, to help us set our future goals. and he said you would be lucky if you have a favorite teacher. i was the luckiest i had 3 favorite teachers, one from school and two from university. i would really like to be like my English teacher of 8th grade, but i would certainly like to avoid being like my English teacher of 10th grade. [seems like English teachers have influenced me a lot] a teacher is a person who is suppose to encourage, to polish, to listen to. a teacher is supposed to be a guide, a friend, a mentor, not some one who labels you, discourage you and ridicule you!!!!!!

this is a very serious job, with high responsibility [so what if little income] and if you can't take that responsibility please don't become a teacher and ruin young minds and give false information to them.

happy teaching to all the teachers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eid, Suspicion and other thoughts

Eid

Eid Mubarak to everyone who is reading this. may ur day be filled with joy and rain water :P

so here i am on eid, wearing a very 'festive' looking dress and my sister go like, you wore this dress today!!! you should have waited for a festive occasion. and i go like, "what is more festive than eid?"

this convo simply reflect that people have actually forgotten that eid is a gift from Allah, for successfully observing the month of Ramzan and for forbidding oneself from things that are allowed only for the happiness of Allah. this is the day to dress up and be happy. it is not the day off only!!!!!

Suspicion
How is it possible that Zulfiqar Mirza sahib speak and I don’t comment on it? So there goes the bomb, he had said out loud what most of us wanted to hear. [at least ppl I know, wanted to hear what he said!!!!] and then the news reporters, current affairs anchors, ppl in  general started asking, if he is speaking the truth? God! How suspicious a nation can get? We are actually divided in groups just because of a statement from a politician. we as a nation should stop being suspicious and start looking for the truth ourselves. Or else we are doomed for the eternity if only we believe in what we hear!!!!! GET UP PPL!!!!!!

and people i met!!!!!

so i joined this new university for doing masters and i met quite a few people and some of them are so nice that u immediately want to be friends with them and some of them are so horrible  that i would like to stay away from them... Well ppl!!!!!!

My Little Girl

i started teaching in 2008 and the first class i got was of 6th grade along with 5th. i was 23 years old, almost fresh out of university and hugely emotional. my students gave me something to look forward to. the happiest moment was when i tried to teach them something and they actually got the hold of the almost new concept of science and their faces shone with the pride of knowing something. the satisfaction that i got seeing their faces can not be compared to any other satisfaction.

the first class that i taught was quiet, as only few students were present, i introduced myself and ask them about them, what they liked, and what was their favorite subject. all the introductory stuff. in that class there was a sweet girl, thin, short, with big eyes. she always looked inquisitive. pretty good at studies, monitor of her class and she came from a very respectable family too!!!!!

the only word that i could of think for her was 'sweet'. we were not teacher and student, we were friends, older sister, younger sister kinda relationship. and then i left the job in that school, moved to other school, a new job, new set of students to teach!!!!!

i lost touch with her and today when i found her this is what she has written about her on her facebook info page.

"I'm not perfect. I'll annoy you tick you off, say stupid things & then take them back. But put all them aside, You'll never find a girl that cares and loves you more than me.

I can turn from a Normal girl to a total Bitch in'a Second ! :*

I Hate Love !

sometimes I can be Rude, Bictchy, Mean but if you can't tolerate me at my worst sure you dont deserve me at my best !

Crazzzzzzzzzzyyyyy :* and i love being it ♥ :D
My Friends are my life ♥ :')
Never Regret, live the moment and move on :) that's what i always do :p
For me Life is climb, and we all are climbers . . I'm near the Top ♥
.. And I'm good at confusing people :p

you hate me? get in the line with others waiting for me to give a fuck !

Man I Love My self :* ♥ :D"

i wonder what happened to my sweet girl. the way today's youth use the bad language thinking that it is cool and in, is so disheartening.

Birthday Blues

one of my students said, "miss how old are you?"
i said, "25 years."
she said, "you are too old. you should get married or at least get engaged. miss XYZ is younger than you, but she is already engaged."

my brother said, "i live with three old women" (referring to mom, me and our sister)
i said, "i don't feel old, when i was 19 i thought that by the age of 25 i'll be doomed, too old to do anything, but now i don't feel old enough."
he said, "whatever!"

ha! people think that i m too old, but ask me i just started living and making sense of myself :)
happy 26th birthday SW!

30 books

on shelfari i joined a group called 50 books challenge. the aim of this group is to encourage reading. this group asks its members to read 50 books in a year. when i joined this group, i was like i wont be able to read 20 books in a year leave alone 50 books, so this year i set myself a target of reading 30 books! i was not sure if i'll be able to achieve this target or not! :D but guess what, i achieved my target int he 8th month of the year and i have got 4 more months to go. may be i'll be able to read 6 or 7 more books. the list of the books that i have read this year is below:

Freedom of Speech and other thoughts...

Freedom of Speech
i certainly enjoy freedom of speech, because i mostly say what i feel like, but freedom of speech doesn't mean that i m allowed to hurt anyone. we are morally responsible individuals. it is true that freedom of speech is one of the greatest right of every human being, but we should also make sure that nobody get hurt by whatever we say.

i believe in many things and i don't believe in many things as well, but if i m to live in this society then i have to make sure that i live here as peacefully as possible without causing pain and grief to anyone around me. now if people think that Islam is the religion that put ban on freedom of speech, they are wrong. Islam put ban on hurting anyone. so if some individual is not following this and saying things vice versa then that individual is mistaken, because most of the times people don't take things at their face value, they interpret things as they wish to!!!! Allah has granted us the permission to ask questions and seek knowledge, and those who have understood the truth about this universe have understood the truth about Allah.

making caricatures of Prophet Muhammad [P.B.U.H] can represent freedom of speech to few, but it causes pain to millions of Muslims. whatever u prefer????? peace among different religions or animosity in the world!!! we need to learn to respect the values of each other!!!

*Ethical Will*
so i read this in reader's digest - an article by Beth Dreher - that everyone needs to write down something for their future generations, for their kids, grand kids or anyone at all, something that represent who you actually are, what u believed in, what u expected from life and what you got from it!!!! so many things that one can tell its children!!! Nice Idea.

\Insulting Others/
insulting others is an art that i never mastered. i just can't make them feel insulted enough :(... but his thing is a master piece, it is by T.S. Elliot on Henry James
" he had a mind so fine that no idea could violate it."

Read a book

Just watched a bunch of videos while knitting and relaxing and then found out that people are talking to chatbots because they are lonely.  ...
